Musings on the Future of the Web
Norwich City are an English football team who play in the Premier League in the 2019/20 season. Their nickname is The Canaries, after their yellow strip, not because they are used to test for gas in mines.
Because the news reports are always slow to load – thanks to millions of advertisements – and the Gov.uk listing (when they don’t accidentally post everyone’s addresses!) are in a PDF, and therefore not great to load up in a mobile, last year I formatted the New Year’s Honours list for simple online publication.
For 2020, the same, see below.
There was a round of highly entertaining Premier League football on Saturday 23 November, including Jose Mourinho’s first match in charge of Spurs; and an intriguing clash between Chelsea and Man City.
Highlights from all the day’s matches, from Sky Sports, the official UK highlights distributor, are embedded below, with some added commentary from me. Got a comment on a match? Leave it at the bottom of this post…
Please note, this content is likely only to work for visitors in the UK.
The 2019 New Year’s Honours List was published today, on 29 December 2019, and in case you wanted to see the full list, without it being in a PDF, I’ve published it below – minus all the ads and other slowness that mainstream news media will surround their honours list content with.
Navigating the Complete List:
This list is complete and searchable – for example, if you are on a desktop or laptop computer, hit CTRL + F and then type in a county or city (say “North Yorkshire” or “London”) or a surname (like “Wilkinson”) and you can then flip through the relevant items. Alternatively, there’s a table of contents so you can jump to the main sections of honours.
I was able to post this really quickly for the benefit of the world because I have the best broadband in Britain.
On Tuesday 3rd December 2019, something new came to fans of Premier League Football in the UK, as Amazon Prime got in on the live matches act. Read about the Man City Amazon Prime match, here, but below, the highlights from the evening from Sky Sports Football, the official UK highlights distributor.
Note the official Premier League Highlights below may only display to visitors from the UK.
After Saturday’s six matches, another four took place on Sunday, during which, every single team engaged scored at least once, in another thrilling day of Premier League entertainment.
Highlights of these four Premier League 19/20 matches are found below, courtesy of the official UK highlights distributor, Sky Sports Football, who have enabled fans, like me, to embed the official video, to lay them all out in one place. For the fans!
Please note, I don’t run ads in my personal website. If you see ads on the video, these are added by Sky / YouTube – the highlights packages don’t pay for themselves!
A host of fixtures in the Premier League were scheduled for New Year’s Day, 1 January 2020, as the 2019/20 season continued.
Highlights from each of the day’s fixtures are below, from Sky Sports football, the official UK highlights resource.
I post Premier League Highlights most match days, all in one fast-loading page, for fans of football. Any ads you see are from Sky Sports / YouTube. I don’t run ads in this site.
Three Premier League matches took place on Sunday 29 December 2019.
As each is posted, I’ll put the highlights in here, courtesy of offical UK Premier League highlights service Sky Sports. Please note, these may not work outside of the UK. Also note, any ads on these videos are from Sky / YouTube, not added by me. I don’t post these videos for any profit – I do it because I want to see a full day’s football in one place… for the fans!
There was a round of six Premier League 19/20 fixtures on Saturday 30 November 2019. In this post, I’ve embedded the official UK Premier League highlights from Sky Sports Football, for fans to enjoy all in one page.
As ever, I’ve sorted them by interest / entertainment – like some kind of Match of the Day tribute act and also added my own inexpert commentary 🙂
Enjoy.
Two matches took place on Thursday 5 December 2019, in the Premier League, as season 19/20 continued.
Premier League Highlights from both of the day’s matches are below.
A round of six Premier League fixtures took place on Saturday 14th December, with the league leaders, Liverpool, in action against bottom club Watford perhaps the highlight of the day.
