This website has flipped around over the years.
For a while, I used it to document a misadventure into politics; basically me trying (and failing) to stop Britain from shooting itself in the foot with Brexit. My aim was to protect my region of Yorkshire and the north of England from the decline I could see coming. With hindsight, I was predicting the muddle the country finds itself in now.
At the start of 2025, I tried to switch this domain to a new one. Despite 301-ing everything properly, by August this domain was still ranking better than the “new” one. So I rolled the change back. SEO lessons: sometimes Google just won’t play ball.
More recently, I’ve updated the homepage here to reflect where I’m really at; both professionally and personally. For the past few years I’ve only been posting cricket highlights (and one trip to Paris), because I’ve been too busy building and running businesses.
2025 has been one of my busiest years yet.
- I moved my family to the South of France and secured residency.
- I’ve been working with excellent colleagues in the US on year two of a three-year transformation contract for a major NYSE-listed education company.
- I’ve logged miles at conferences in the Philippines, Malaysia, Switzerland, Las Vegas, and started the year in Barbados before swinging through Ireland.
They voted for Brexit, so I Brexited.
Despite the travel, I’m still long on the internet. My desk is where I do my best work — it just happens that sometimes that desk is on a sunlit roof terrace on the Côte d’Azur.
I don’t do much social media, though I keep a Twitter profile and I’ve joined Instagram to share an update with friends around the world. Every now and then I’ll remember to pull out my phone and post a picture.
Leave a comment below if you would be interested in any further updates… I may be inspired to post something other than cricket highlights more than once a decade.
