Day One Highlights
The story of the first day was 18 year old Rehan Ahmed making his debut – the youngest ever English test player – and taking two wickets on his first outing in cricket’s best format.
Day Two Highlights
The second day was all about another young man, as Yorkshire’s Harry Brook proved that the future is bright by bagging his third hundred in three test matches in Pakistan. The talented batter has shown he likes it in Pakistan, but his innings was very impressive on a tricky pitch.
Day Three Highlights
England somehow were looking to win the match in three days after Ahmed put an incredible shine on his debut with a magnificent 5-for. Both he and fellow spinner Jack Leach took important wickets in little clusters at key moments, setting up an historic victory.
Day Four Highlights
After literally launching his bat on the eve of day three, swinging very hard, it was good to see Ben Stokes bat through as England collected a win without losing further wickets in short time. Duckett will be happy to add to his average with a rare N.O. for an opener.
England were the first ever touring side to collect a series whitewash in Pakistan, with their win in the opening test a real series defining moment.
Harry Brook quite rightly collected player of the series plaudits, in only his fourth test match. Pinch yourself, this really is England playing test cricket in a weird and wonderful new winning way!
