City were passengers in the first half, as PSG got off to a fine start, leading 1-0 at half time, but a different set of teams emerged in the second period, and the visitors produced a deserved winner through Mahrez free kick.

Mahrez has been in stunning form of late, as have De Bruyne and Foden, who were both also excellent on the evening, with the former producing a goal, and the latter, in the first half, going very close too.

City have the clear advantage heading into the second, home, leg, a goal to the good, and two of them scored away from home, meaning PSG will need to score twice at least to progress. On the evidence of the first half here, though, they certainly have the talent to produce such an event, however, Manchester City must also be stopped for all 90 minutes, which is also a difficult challenge.

Job half done for City, who will hope for better than the opening 45 they produced on this evening, if they are to assure themselves of passage to the Final.
