Champions League Quarter Final Highlights – Tuesday 6 April 2021

A couple of UEFA Champions League 2021 Quarter Final first legs got under way on Tuesday 6th April, with ties taking place in Manchester and Madrid.

Man City v Borussia Dortmund (2-1)

Phil Foden gave City a marginal advantage late in this opening leg, after Dortmund had cancelled out City’s early lead with what could be an important away goal.

The scorer was Reus, who replied to an early Kevin De Bruyne strike on 84 minutes. That looked to have levelled things, before Foden slotted home in the final minute.

Dortmund possess a real threat, with Haaland up top, so the second leg will be well worth a watch.

Real Madrid Vs Liverpool (3-1)

Real Madrid put on a solid performance to outgun visiting Liverpool, who will be disappointed after coming back from 2-0 down to 2-1 that the hosts grabbed a deserved extension to their lead thanks to an impressive brace of goals from 20 year old Vinícius Júnior.

They’ll need to perform some heroics at Anfield to progress. If there is hope, it is in the away goal. It still looks a slim chance, such was Real’s advantage in this, the opening leg.
