Welcome to my website

Welcome to my website. This is a first post, also known as a “hello world” blog post.

In this blog post, I am saying “hello” to you, out there, as a fellow inhabitant of our planet.

Other than that, I would be interested to know a bit about you. Leave a comment below, saying something interesting you found out this week, or, in other words, answer the question “what’s new with you?”

Some things about this website, and me, you might not have known immediately, but all of which are true facts:

  • This website is built on WordPress, the world’s most popular CMS;
  • This website is built using the “default” WordPress theme which was in place at the time I made it, which is namely the Twenty seventeen, theme.
  • Despite the above fact, I am a WordPress developer! I can and do build custom themes – or, more appropriately, oversee the development of custom themes for clients – over at Silicon Dales;
  • I am a WordPress & WooCommerce developer – though this information is in the site tag line;
  • You can hire me to work on WordPress websites, here.
  • I originally registered this website when I stood in local Government elections (one of which I did win)
  • I did not stand for re-election at the end of my term as a local councillor, and therefore I had this domain to re-purpose for other things;
  • I decided to blog occasionally about development, e-commerce, and other general items as and when they crop up;
  • If you’d like to be notified of any future updates to this site, follow me on Twitter and I’ll post a link to any new items of content.

About Robin Scott

I'm Robin Scott, a WordPress Consultant and WooCommerce expert developer who, along with three other people, runs a business called Silicon Dales Ltd remotely, from a base in the North of the UK. I enjoy using my talents for programming to track and interpret sporting, political or retail data - and therefore you'll see me posting some content in these spaces in this, my personal website. If you're interested to talk about leveraging this for your business (in sport, entertainment, retail, etc) please contact me.

  1. This is a comment, you could leave one like this, by entering the text and pressing “post comment”. Comments are seen by the public – not all of them, just those who visit this website, which as a percentage, is not even a blip on the radar.

    You must use an email address to post a comment, but that is not shown to anyone except me – the admin of this website – in order that I might contact you about your comment. Your email address will also help to add a profile pic (like mine) by using the service Gravatar.com to create you a Globally Recognised AVATAR. Clever, hey?!
