Silver Lake Buy $500M Worth of Man City

There are no coincidences in this world, just a lack of understanding or awareness of the connecting impetus.

Silver Lake Partners, big investors in tech from the US, have been on my radar for a while, and notably I watched with interest when they put many millions into WP Engine, a WordPress focused hosting business that quickly gathered pace in this competitive space.

WordPress, as you’ll know, allows for great experiences. I developed the fastest website in the world here, and I use it, for example, to deliver passion-based content to passionate fans of football, such as through regular UEFA Champions League highlights and Premier League highlights content – embedding the official rights holder content – as an example of how to engage fans in a new way.

It is, therefore, no surprise to me, that Silver Lake has bought a whopping 10% stake in Manchester City’s parent, for a reputed c. $500million. That’s huge.

Delivering incredible, fast, revenue generating content to passion-driven fans and consumers marks this out as an excellent acquisition – Man City can speak directly to a global audience of exactly this.

The world is changing, and fast. Rights holders, sports entertainment businesses, and those seeking to make investments in the same: feel free to contact me about how to make more of an impact in this space, leveraging all of the above, to generate revenue in this changing world.
