Snowfall Deactivated for 2024

It’s New Year’s Eve tomorrow and, although the Christmas decorations don’t come down for around another week, I’ve deactivated the snowfall plugin from this website, ahead of NYE in order to post some retrospective and forwards-looking year-end content.

One of the retrospectives I may be posting was how during 2024, this domain was apparently hit by HCU and then, in the past few weeks, has recovered to almost pre-HCU like performance.

This has brought some classic blog posts back to the fore, for example, this post about the insult “you melt” as well as this old chestnut about a very specific Barclays banking app warning. My personal favourite recovery story is the fact my post about some old Rugby League commentary is ranking again, indeed… I can’t spake.

All these search phrases, and many more, have bounced back to almost where they used to rank, after I took several measures over a period of weeks – but mostly I focussed on SEO fundamentals.

As I asked on Twitter (and did not get sufficient responses to actually give away this top drawer information for free), if you’d like to know what those steps were, and in detail, then please leave a comment below.

In case you’re waiting to see which of my blog posts are bangers this year, I made a tag for stuff which got a few eyeballs. See some of the bangers for 2024 here.
