England won by 8 runs for the second match in a row, thanks mostly to an impressive display by Dawid Malan, who was restored to his familiar number 3 position, and played a calm and assured knock. Mo Ali was an able assistant, banging some big shots, after England’s top order slipped a little set some difficult questions by this, Australia’s first string bowling attack.
